Did I mention possum merino?

Several people had mentioned that I should check out hats and gloves made from possum merino.  I had to investigate to even know what they were talking about.  Possum merino is a blend of quality merino wool and New Zealand possum fur woven into

warm, comfortable clothing and accessories. Due to its hollow nature, the possum fur fiber is highly insulating and provides exceptional thermal warmth without weight. Research has shown that it is 55% warmer than Merino wool and 35% warmer than cashmere.

So of course on the drive from Akaroa to Hamner Springs I thought we should stop and see what it was like.  I found a beautiful red scarf and matching hat that I bought as my souvenir of New Zealand.
